Bolwerk is moeilijk in één vakje te stoppen...

Toch zijn er drie fundamentele pijlers: ontmoeting, creatie/creativiteit en verwondering. In elk van de projecten waar bolwerk initiator, creator of partner is komen één of meerdere van deze pijlers terug. Bolwerk werkt sector-doorbrekend en is op vele fronten actief: op het vlak van straatkunsten, van cultuureducatie, als organisator van culturele en sociale evenementen en probeert steeds participatief te werken. 

Het multidisciplinaire karakter van de organisatie blijkt ook uit de structuur. De organisatie bestaat uit verschillende ateliers die elke rond een andere discipline actief zijn. Bolwerk denkt vanuit concepten en brengt elementen van ambachtelijkheid en convivialiteit binnen. Omwille van deze expertise krijgt bolwerk steeds meer vragen uit de socio-culturele sector om bepaalde ideeën om te zetten in tastbare projecten, producten, evenementen of installaties. Bolwerk hanteert daarbij de publieke ruimte steevast als inspiratiebron en presentatieplek.

Bolwerk n’est pas facile à ranger dans une case précise…

Mais elle s’appuie tout de même sur trois piliers de base: la rencontre, la creation/créativité et la surprise. Et il y a toujours au moins un de ces trois piliers qui est récurrent dans chaque projet dont bolwerk est l’initiateur, le créateur ou le partenaire. Bolwerk vise à favoriser les contacts et le partage d’idées par-delà les frontières sectorielles sur les multiples fronts où elle est active: ceux des arts de rue, de l’éducation culturelle, de l’événementiel culturel et social. La participation active est toujours au centre de notre intérêt.

 La nature multidisciplinaire de l’organisation se révèle également par sa structure. L’organisation se compose de plusieurs ateliers actifs autour de disciplines différentes. Bolwerk extériorise son discours en termes de concepts, tout en intégrant des éléments artisanaux et de convivialité. Notre expertise a mené à un nombre accru de demandes du secteur socio-culturel de transformer certaines idées en des projets tangibles, des produits, des événements ou des installations. Bolwerk utilise à tous les coups l’espace public comme source d’inspiration et comme endroit de représentation.

Bolwerk is not easy to store in a clear box…

Nevertheless, its organisation leans on three basic pillars: meeting, creation/creativity and surprise. At least one of those pillars keeps coming back in each project of which bolwerk is the initiator, creator or partner. The Bolwerk actions always stretch beyond the sectorial borders in the various fields in which we operate: street art, cultural education and organiser of cultural and social events. Active participation is the main asset.

The multidisciplinary nature of the organisation is also revealed by its structure. The organisation counts several workshops of various disciplines. Bolwerk thinks in terms of concepts and introduces elements of handicraft and human friendliness. Our expertise brought to an increase the number of demands of the socio-cultural sector to translate number of ideas into perceptible projects, products, events or installations. Bolwerk always uses the public space as a source of inspiration and as the place to be.
